Bus driver outs Santa?

Bus driver outs Santa?- The school is currently investigating First Student, the contracted bus company. A spokeswoman for the company reported Monday that the accused bus driver “has been moved to a new bus route.” Louis Seeley, the father of an 8-year-old third-grade girl, contacted Columbus Magnet School officials after his daughter told him the driver expressed certain opinions about Santa Claus earlier this month.
The driver told the girl “he believes he should not lie to his kids about who puts the presents under the tree,” Seeley said. “He also said that he doesn’t believe that Jesus was born on Dec. 25.”

Seeley’s daughter approached Seeley a few days later with questions about Santa, he said.

“The next morning, my wife went out to the bus driver and told him not to speak to kids about Christmas,” Seeley said. “He said ‘OK.’”

But Jen Biddinger of First Student defended the driver, saying “We have no reason to believe that conversation took place as initially reported.”
Biddinger said the student had overheard a conversation between the driver and another student. She wouldn’t identify the driver, calling it a personnel matter.
“Obviously, we take all incidents very seriously,” she said. The bus company spoke with the driver and with the board of education, she said.

“The driver indicated that he was having a conversation with another student regarding his focus on other elements, other than gift-giving,” during the holidays, Biddinger said. “He was saying ‘It’s much more than gift-giving.’”
She added that the driver, who has been working for First Student since 2007, never had a complaint filed against him before this incident. In fact, parents have started calling the bus company to complain about the fact he was moved, she said.
Seeley said his concern is not so much about the Santa question but about the accountability of the driver, who he said shouldn’t be speaking with children at all. He said school officials were slow to respond to his concerns.

Women Forged Check For Shopping Spree

Women forged check for shopping spree- Women accused of forging check for private jet, N.Y. shopping spree,They may have wanted Breakfast at Tiffany's, but Orange County prosecutors say a Garden Grove paralegal and Cypress elementary school teacher are in big trouble after a spending spree in New York City.
Orange County prosecutors have charged Alexa Johzen Polar, 34, and Robin Antonella Pabello, 33, both of Garden Grove, with multiple felonies after they allegedly used a forged $285,000 check from a law firm to charter a private jet. They purchased five hotel rooms and went on shopping forays at Tiffany, authorities said.

The roommates also used fraudulently obtained cashiers checks in the amounts of $100,000 and $33,000 to put a deposit on an 11,000-square-foot house in Murrieta worth about $3.7 million.

Cypress Police Det. Greg Faessel said investigators believe the women wanted to rent the Murrieta mansion during the escrow process and "live like kings during the holidays."

"These women were already deep in debt and wanted to enjoy life without any cares for a while," Faessel said.

Both women, who are expected to plead not guilty when arraigned Monday afternoon in Westminster, face two felony counts of forgery, one felony count of grand theft and one felony count of grand theft by embezzlement.

If convicted, they each face a maximum sentence of six years and four months in state prison. Prosecutors will ask that the roommates each be held on $285,000 bail and prove that the money came from a legal source if they post bond.
According to prosecutors, Polar worked as a paralegal for a Newport Beach law firm and lived with Pabello, a second-grade teacher at St. Irenaeus Parish School.

The school's website says she has been a teacher there since 2004.

"I'm not just a teacher here at St. I's but a student as well," she states on the website. "A student of life lessons and the daily lessons that God sends to me. Those lessons that I learn I pass to my students in hopes that they continue passing it on to others."

The defendants are accused of, sometime between Sept. 21 and Nov. 16, stealing a check for more than $19,500 made out to a law firm where Polar worked and then "removing the payee's name and the amount of the check and re-marking the check with Pabello's name," prosecutors said in a statement. The amount of the check was then changed to $285,000.

Faessel said the two deposited the fraudulent check Nov. 16 via ATM into a joint bank account, then spent $30,000 to charter a private jet for a one-way flight with several friends to New York City.

Once there, they allegedly rented five rooms at a Marriott hotel overlooking Times Square and bought unspecified items from Tiffany and Montblanc that investigators believe were intended as holiday gifts for friends. women check spree, women forge $285,000,

The Cypress Police Department began investigating after the bank that issued the original check rejected it and informed the bank that held the women's joint account. Their account was frozen during the time the women were in New York, so they had to fly coach back to Los Angeles, Faessel said.

Elizabeth Taylor's Jewels At Auction

Elizabeth Taylor's jewels at auction. Jewels, gowns and paintings that added color to Elizabeth Taylor’s life are already, six months after her death, traveling the world en route to new owners. Christie’s is taking the material to eight cities in seven countries for sales previews or "exhibitions" before putting it up for auction. This weekend is the London showing. Much of the material then travels to Los Angeles for a preview at MOCA’s Pacific Design Center branch from Oct. 13 to 16. Tickets for the L.A. event went on sale Thursday at christies.com. Five thousand tickets are available at $20 each; 850 sold within the first two hours, according to a Christie's spokesperson.
The jewelry for sale includes Taylor's much-photographed 33-carat rectangular-cut diamond, a gift from two-time-husband Richard Burton, now estimated at $2.5 million to $3.5 million. Art highlights include major paintings by Degas, Pissarro and Van Gogh (on view in London but not L.A.) as well as works on paper that the actress received from artist-admirers like Andy Warhol (on view in L.A.).

The profits from the preview at MOCA’s Pacific Design Center will be split between the museum and the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation; a minimum contribution of $100,000 will go to the museum. Marc Porter, chairman of Christie’s Americas, says that he approached MOCA. "We considered hotels, theaters and other sorts of venues before deciding this one was perfect," he says, citing its location, size, the availability of parking and security as leading concerns.

MOCA director Jeffrey Deitch says the event was good timing as MOCA happened to be in between shows at the Pacific Design Center space, and the preview fit one of the museum’s goals. “The larger community is not aware we have a gallery there, so using this partnership is a way for us to get tremendous attention for that location,” he says.

Asked about the appropriateness of a museum giving over its space to a commercial enterprise, Deitch offered examples of other museums renting out spaces, from the Metropolitan Museum of Art offering its Temple of Dendur hall for corporate events to the Brooklyn Museum of Art renting out its atrium for parties. “Rental agreements are routine,” he says, “and this one provides more benefits to the public and to MOCA.”

A preview of the Taylor estate has already taken place in Moscow. Future stops on the tour include the Jumeirah Emirates Towers in Dubai, the Four Seasons Hotel in Geneva, the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center in Wanchai, and Christie’s salesrooms in Paris and New York.

Apples Fall From Sky

Apples fall from sky, Apples Fall From The Sky: Fruity Shower Leaves Coventry Confused,Residents of Coventry have been left scratching their heads in bemusement after a shower of apples fell from the sky. The hail of fruit came on Monday night and saw startled motorists braking sharply as the apples rained down into their paths and onto their bonnets.

More than 100 apples poured down over a main road in Keresley, in a downpour, believed to have been caused by a vortex created by the freak weather conditions.
Retired fork lift truck driver Dave Meakins initially thought children had thrown the apples as a prank.

He told the Daily Mail: “I assumed kids must have thrown them because we do get the occasional egg and apple thrown but there’s way too much for that.
"I honestly don’t know where the apples could have come from.”

One motorist told the Telegraph: “The apples fell out of the sky as if out of nowhere. They were small and green and hit the bonnet hard.
“There were other cars on the road at the time too and everyone had to stop their cars suddenly.”
According to the Met Office, it’s possible the apples were scooped up by a tornado.

Jim Dale, senior meteorologist from British Weather Services, said: “We’ve all heard of the fish and frogs falling from the sky and apples is certainly unusual because they have some weight to them but it is not out of the realms of possibility."

Kim K. buys Taylor Jewels

Kim K. buys Taylor jewels- Kim Kardashian, in the midst of getting a divorce from former NBA player Kris Humphries, took time out to bid on the late Elizabeth Taylor’s jewelry collection. Kardashian reportedly bought three jade and diamond bracelets for $65,000.
Kim Kardashian paid $65,000 to buy three bracelets that belonged to Elizabeth Taylor. Taylor's collection of rare and expensive pieces of jewelry was auctioned off on Wednesday in New York City.

According to a report from TMZ, Kim outbid several jewelry enthusiasts in order the win the bracelets, which are made of diamonds and jade.

Elizabeth Taylor and the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star appeared together in a magazine article shortly before Taylor's death. Kardashian idolized the Hollywood star and wanted to be
sure to have a piece or two or her infamous history.

Kim Kardashian doesn't actually have Elizabeth Taylor's bracelets yet. Once the paid auction items are processed through the auction house, she will take receipt of them--quite likely within the next few days.

Some people believe that jade harnesses energy and that's yet another reason for Kim Kardashian bidding on Elizabeth Taylor's bracelets. She could use a bit of positive energy, in light of her present scandal involving her marriage of 72 days to Kris Humphries.

Dropping $65,000 on three bracelets is more proof positive that Kim Kardashian doesn't understand how someone like Kris Humphries lives. Not raised with that kind of cash on hand, his upbringing was far more humble than Kim's. The couple's lavish wedding must have felt almost obscene to someone like Kris.

Hopefully Kim K gets lots of pleasure from the bracelets she bought from Liz Taylor's estate. Since announcing her plans to divorce Kris Humphries, it doesn't appear as though Kim has enjoyed much of anything.

Miley Cyrus Denies Implants

Miley Cyrus denies implants- Singer and actress Miley Cyrus, 19, took to Twitter to blast rumors that she’s had a boob job. The buzz started after Cyrus appeared on the red carpet, along with her boyfriend wearing a very low-cut gown. Those who saw her in the dress said the star most likely had implants. 19-year-old Miley Cyrus showed up on the red carpet recently in your standard plunging, form-fitting, breast-parting gown. This has caused some people to speculate that she got breast implants, namely the tasteful decency-lovers at Star, who assembled a panel of fame-seeking plastic surgeons to say things like:

Cyrus does indeed appear to have had a breast augmentation,” noting her breasts are fuller and show more cleavage than before. The outline of the implants are clearly visible in the inner lower portions of her breasts. Even a large weight gain would not produce breast enhancement to this degree without implants!”

Today, Cyrus took to Twitter to deny the rumor: ”Thank you for the compliment but these babies are all mine. I wish they’d realize you don’t have to be fake to be beautiful!” and in a later tweet, “And I’m 19!!! BOOBS GROW PEOPLE!”

While Cyrus is correct in her assertion that BOOBS GROW PEOPLE!, we’re mostly just put off by the idea of a bunch of people sitting around speculating about a teenager’s breasts.

Baby Seal Home Couch

Baby Seal Home Couch- Woman finds baby seal on couch,A New Zealand woman got quite the surprise when she found a baby seal napping on her couch. The pup apparently made its way into the home after traveling from the waterfront, through a residential area and across a busy road.
A seal pup had wandered from his nearby waterfront home, through the residential area where Annette Swoffer lives, and finally wriggled though the cat door at her house, the New Zealand Herald reported.

“I thought the cats brought a rabbit or something in, so I went down and had a look – and there’s a seal in my kitchen,” she said.

“I was standing there thinking, ‘this is really strange.’”

After calling a neighbor over to verify what she was seeing was true, Swoffer called the SPCA.

“They were giggling away and I’m saying, ‘I’m not drunk, I’m not lying,’ there’s a seal in my house,” she told the New Zealand Herald.

Meanwhile, the seal, undisturbed, waddled right past Swoffer into her living room and plopped down on the couch.

“Then it looks at me with those huge brown eyes,” she said to the New Zealand Herald. “It was so cute, but I didn’t touch it because you don’t with wild animals.”

The SPCA called the Department of Conservation, which was already on the hunt for the missing seal, who had been spotted traipsing in someone else’s garden earlier in the afternoon.

These reports of friends being worried about him going broke because he is spending too much on Gomez just have to be made up. No intelligent person could seriously be worried about a person who is worth $85 million as of last year, and is set to make tens of millions more throughout this year, spending all their money on one person. It defies logic.
