Brett Favre Aaron Rodgers- Aaron Rodgers is shrugging off Brett Favre’s assessment of his success. The reigning Super Bowl MVP would rather talk about the accomplishments of his Green Bay Packers teammates than dwell on what his predecessor thinks.

“I’m just going to say that I was really proud of our team,” Rodgers said. “It takes 53 guys to win a championship and we had the right recipe last year and we’re trying to do the same thing this season.”
In a radio interview with Atlanta’s 790 The Zone, Favre made remarks that could be interpreted as a subtle attempt to minimize Rodgers’ achievements.

2011-12 NHL Regular Season Start

2011-12 NHL regular season start- More than 300 of the NHL's regular season contests will be televised by the League's national broadcast partners during the 2011-12 season. The League unveiled the national television schedule for the upcoming season Thursday, highlighted by the 2011 Compuware NHL Premiere games and a Friday matinee on NBC the day after Thanksgiving. The defending champion Boston Bruins open the NHL season by welcoming Philadelphia to TD Garden on Oct. 6 on Versus, while CBC will broadcast Montreal at Toronto. Both networks have a doubleheader that night, with Pittsburgh at Vancouver acting as the nightcap for both.

The Compuware NHL Premiere games start the next day, with the New York Rangers playing the Los Angeles Kings on TSN and Versus at Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, while the Buffalo Sabres and Anaheim Ducks play at Hartwell Arena in Helsinki. On Oct. 8, Anaheim and New York square off in Stockholm on TSN and Versus, while Buffalo and Los Angeles will play at World Arena in Berlin on TSN2.

Russian tablet rival ipad- A Russian state company plans to start mass production next year of cheap plastic-based tablet computers for school students which it says will rival Apple Inc's iPad.
Anatoly Chubais, an architect of Russian market reform and a head of technology conglomerate Rosnano, told Prime Minister Vladimir Putin the new computer would cost about $420 compared with $670 for the cheapest iPad.

"This tablet is lighter, there is no glass, even in the screen. Even if school students decide to fight each other with these tablets, they are absolutely injury-free," Chubais joked in a bid to promote the technology.
The device would use plastic or organic electronics, developed at Cambridge University in the 1990s, rather than silicon conductors. Chubais sees the technology grabbing a 10 percent share of the global electronics market.
Television footage showed Chubais handing to Putin the 20 by 30 centimetre tablet PC, which visually resembled the iPad but exceeded its rival in size. Putin touched the screen and smiled when a popular proverb came up.
Unlike his partner in Russia 's ruling duo, President Dmitry Medvedev , an Apple fan who appears at official events carrying his iPad, Putin is not a computer geek, and officials are often advised not to display their iPads in his presence.
RUSSIAN TABLET
Many younger Russian bureaucrats and entrepreneurs who see Medvedev as their leader and want him to take part in the March 2012 presidential election also carry iPads and are active on Twitter and Facebook .
In January 2011 Rosnano paid $150 million for 25 percent of Plastic Logic, seen as one of the global leaders in plastic electronics and which plans to invest $700 million in building a manufacturing plant outside Moscow
Apple's main distributor in Russia , Re:Store, estimates the local market for tablet computers at 500,000 per year, with Apple's iPad holding a 60 percent share.
"I can be certain that a Russian tablet computer will not get more than a 10 percent share of the market," Re:Store's CEO Tikhon Smykov told Reuters.
Chubais said Rosnano will test the new tablet, pre-loaded with school books and education materials, in some schools for a year before launching mass production and targeting Russia 's 13.6 million school students.

The Tonight Show at the top of the nighttime talk show heap, NBC pays host Jay Leno $27 million a year. Still, after 17 years, he's on his way out. But don't feel too badly for him. He's being actively courted by competitors like ABC and Fox, and will likely land an even bigger payday.

Then there's the income he makes from appearances. Fortune magazine estimated in 2004 that he was bringing home about $15 million a year. Despite his multi-millionaire status, the only flashy thing about him is his collection of cars and motorcycles. "When I was a kid, I always had two jobs. I had one job which the money went in the bank and the other job that I lived off of," he said back in 2004. "I still do that to this day. I have yet to touch a dime of my Tonight Show salary. I live off the money I make as a comedian...Maybe it comes from having parents who grew up during the Depression." Yet, his penny-pinching ways got him into hot water with his writers during the writers' strike. While Conan O'Brian promised staffers who were pink-slipped by NBC that he would cover their salaries out of his own pocket, Leno only did so, and on a week-by-week basis, after being shamed by all the bad press.

The duchess was wearing a Joseph crepe de chine “Athena” dress that retails for 180 pounds, or $293, and Jim Choo “Lovely” shoes that retail for 330 pounds, or $538.
“The monarch led the way and, with her hands clasped behind her back, strode into the ballroom and stopped about 10 feet from the dress with Kate standing beside her.
“As the pair chatted, the pitch of the Queen's voice raised and she said ‘horrible’ and then ‘horrid.’ It appeared the mannequin's lack of a head may have perturbed the Queen, who added: ‘It's made to look very creepy,’” the media outlet reported.
The duchess took a more diplomatic tack, saying the dress display had a “3D effect.” She already saw the display earlier in the week when she joined some of her wedding party for a private viewing.
Buckingham Palace was responsible for curating the show, “The Royal Wedding Dress: A Story of Great British Design,” which opens Saturday and runs through October 3, A McQueen spokesman declined to comment on the Queen’s reaction.
